I was a registered nurse in the Philippines and had heard of the challenging assignments and lucrative pay packets of the Australian health care scenario from some of my colleagues who had immigrated to the country. To fulfil my ambitions, I joined the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses (IRON) program conducted by ACFE. The course consists of both classroom studies and hands-on clinical placement and it is this that helped me gain the required confidence to match the stringent conditions laid down in the Australian health care sector. After completing the program I was employed with a good pay packet in an aged care community setting. My thanks to ACFE for helping me achieve my career goals.
