NORTONS is a privately owned real estate family organisation that was established in Drummoyne, NSW in 1960 by the late Alex Norton.
Alex Norton was an innovator with great insight. He was instrumental in forming the Private Hospital and Nursing Homes Association of Australia in the 1970's. His initial passion was in Nursing Homes and Private Hospitals.
With a commitment and a tradition in the caring profession, NORTONS initially specialised in the operation, development and management of Aged and Health care facilities.
Caroline Chisholm Nursing Home and Retirement Village in Lane Cove was Alex Norton’s first main aged care project in the 1960’s that he owned and operated.
Berida Manor Health Resort at Bowral was another “jewel” of Alex Norton’s which came to prominence when the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) had their conference there at the opening of the Resort in 1978.
Alex Norton sadly passed away in October 1996 at age 73.
The 1990’s, in response to the very dynamic changes within the childcare industry, saw NORTONS enter a new era and become involved in all aspects of child care from consultancy and valuation through to sales and development. The company’s services are diverse and specific to our client’s needs.
