More details

PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY
Prevention is better than cure. Dental check-ups are recommended every 6 months. Dentist will thoroughly examine your mouth for any signs of tooth decay, gum disease and any other Oral soft Tissue Diseases. Early detection helps to avoid painful, expensive, late stage treatment. X-Rays will be taken to determine any tooth decay in between your teeth which is not visible for direct vision. Dentist will complete through cleaning by removing calculus [Tartar build ups], stains from your teeth which cannot be removed by regular brushing. Then followed by polishing your teeth and thereafter Topical Fluoride will be applied to your teeth to strengthen and remineralise your teeth.
DENTAL EXTRACTION
Unrestorable tooth, very loose tooth with advance gum disease and split tooth [vertically fractured tooth] are considered poorly prognosed teeth and Dentist may recommend remove/Extracting the tooth. First Dentist gives Local Anesthesia to numb the tooth and surrounding tissue before extraction. Wisdom teeth [ 3rd Molar] removal is recommended if there is infection repeatedly or any sign and symptoms from wisdom teeth or Recommended by Orthodontist during or after Orthodontic treatment. Partially erupted wisdom teeth may require surgical removal. Adults have up to 32 teeth, of which four are wisdom teeth and these are the last to come through the gum. They are the one’s right at the back of the mouth and usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25 although sometimes they can appear in later years. Complex/complicated wisdom teeth removal will be referred to a specialist [Oral&Maxilllo-Facial Surgeon].
GUM/PERIODONTAL TREATMENT
Healthy gum looks pink in colour and firm in texture and do not bleed when brushing. Reddish gum, bleeding on brushing, swollen painful gum/tooth, gum recession, us coming around the tooth and mobile/loose teeth are signs of gum disease. Dentist will provide scaling and deep scaling. Some advanced gum disease Dentist may recommend referral to a specialist [Periodontist].
