Company description

Master Electricians Australia (MEA) is a premier electrical industry association with a mission to continually provide electricians and electrical businesses continued support in terms of skills, trainings, apprenticeship and events so they can in turn provide the community with outstanding and safe services worthy of consumer trust and confidence. Our association represents electrical contractors all over Australia and is managed and run by industry experts headed by Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Richards who has extensive years of experience in the electrical industry. Before putting up MEA, Richards spent six years with the Queensland Electrical Safety Office where he developed new electrical safety regulations as part of his tasks. His competent management team – all experts in their respective fields – supports Richards in their mutual desire to improve the electrical industry for the safety and trust of the community. Mark Dearlove (Chief Operating Officer) is the author of the current Queensland Electrical Safety Act. Peter Jones (Chief Financial Officer) is a Chartered Accountant and highly experienced in accounting and finance including international accounting for taxation, business advisory, strategic financial management and corporate governance. David Melloy (General Manager-Marketing) has 14 years experience in marketing and communicatios and Jason O’Dwyer (General Manager-Workplace Policy) boasts of 20 years experience in human resource and workplace relations in various industries. All states have their respective managers as well. MEA members are privileged not only for being associated with a well-respected organisation but also for the various programs and services afforded to them. All members get free access to documents and forms needed for technical and/or workplace relations. We have a technical hotline where members can call for any technical help on standards, safety and compliance. Trainings to keep them at the forefront of the industry are available such as courses for electrical, data and communications, first aid, renewable energies, business as well as online Certificate courses. Electrical contractors can take advantage of our Apprentice services, a smart way to keep you focused on the business while we provide support for the managing of the process, paperwork and time frames of your apprentices. We also have safety services to help members with their electrical business to help avoid legal issue and reduce insurance costs. Called SafetyConnect, it is a comprehensive electrical safety management system specially developed and created for electrical contractors to ensure workplace safety and compliance. We give our members time for socialisation through regular and yearly events that aims to foster camaraderie and strong business relations. We have the annual Industry Conference where we recognise outstanding members (individual and businesses) for Excellence as well as regular local meetings through Roadshows and Golf Days. All told, a Master Electrician is not your ordinary electrician living next door. Master Electricians are epitomes of excellent electricians continually trained, up skilled and updated doing a safe and outstanding job worthy of consumer trust and confidence.
